I was allowed to go up in Snorkel (goes up 85 feet and then does a 360). They test Snorkel every Wednesday to make sure everything is in working order--so I volunteered my services! Oh, did I mention my terrible fear of heights. I can't even do ladders! But, I WILL conquer this fear! UPDATE 5/27/07 I made it all the way to the top (85 feet) a week ago Wednesday! Plus, it was VERY windy that day! So, I can now say I conquered this fear and ready to go up in it again!

After 40 years of dedication, Ralph Hall officially retired on April 30, 2007. Ralph & his brother, Jack were firefighters. Ralph retired as a regular firefighter and went to a Paid on Call, so his son, Bill could become a regular full time firefighter. What a man!
