While in the area, be sure to check to spend the night in the quaint river town of Grafton (minutes from Alton) at the newly opened, Grafton Inn.
Another favorite attraction of tourists is the Alton Museum of History & Arts that contains numerous items dating back to the time it was established in 1832. Alton, is the home of the tallest man in the World, or "The Gentle Giant", Robert Wadlow. The Museum displays many items of local interest.
