This portion relates to the building we use to have our shop in. I thought it would still interest people.

Now, I put the question marks after this section because there are some people who believe in the spirit world (ghosts), while others do not (my husband, Gary is a non-believer). So, you be the judge.
Another occupant of the building, "Jane", informed me of her friendly ghost that appears when she is in a time of need. According to her, "he" has long dark wavy hair and a Roman nose. "He" is wearing a white shirt with puffy sleeves and black pants and vest. The business owner is not the only one that has seen him--her employees have also. Oh yes, occasionally "he" can be heard whistling. On several other occasions "Jane" has seen a little boy huddle outside in the corner of the stoop. While these two are friendly, "Jane" has seen an evil spirit wearing a bright colored outfit (like that a Jester would wear). "Jane" sternly told this ghost to leave and never return. So far, it has worked.
Now, as for my own experience......
Like I said before, Gary, does not believe in the spirit world and says there is a rational explanation for everything. First, let me say that any presence here is a good presence and I feel safe and comfortable here at all times. Now, with that said and done let me tell you a few things that have happened since we opened November 30, 2002.
The very first day we were opened was the day after Thanksgiving . . . so it was busy and exciting. At closing I made sure both entrances were locked securely and the "open" signs flipped to "closed". I even double checked because it was our first day. The next morning when I arrived, both signs were turned to "open". Gary says I just forgot to flip them....but, I KNOW I had them turned to closed.
On another occasion, during the frigid month of January I came in to find the furnace blowing full force. Now, this is odd because I am religious when it comes to turning the heat all the way down at night because of the high heating costs of this old building. Plus, even during the day I rarely had the heat above 63 to conserve. Well, I called our landlord thinking that he had been in working and forgot to turn the heat down. To my surprise, he hadn't been in. Gary had been with me all night, so it wasn't him. When I asked Gary to explain this one, he just said "the ghosts were cold" and laughed.
There are many other things that happen--mostly just pranks. For instance, I always see (out of the corner of my eye) a man standing in the Easton Entryway. When I turn toward him, he is gone.
On numerous occasions I have heard footsteps coming down the Broadway staircase, and look up to find no one there. (This event only started after a friend of mine suddenly passed away after leaving our shop. He would come in every day first thing in the morning to chat and then head down the street to his friends shop where he spent the remaining part of the day. It was at her shop that he died without warning. So, its my theory that Boyd still comes for his morning visits with me.)
Finally, many customers come up to me and tell me about the "pressure" they feel in the oven where the Underground Railroad was--this is before I told them about the history of the building.
